nostalgia in the soggy northwest

maybe its the never-ending rain these last few days or just the fact that I was putting things in storage and ran across some old film, but I've got a touch of nostalgia. Here's my dear girl Duna in better form, back when we used to go on long walks- now she just manages short little jaunts.

Here's another image that seems to convey the gloom we've got going on around here-

and then, in the that was then, this is now file, also part of the continuing rest stop series, here is a shot of a ridgeline in Idaho. one was taken with color film 5 years ago, the other with chrome just in the past month. I cropped a little differently; I'll have to take it again the next time I pass through.

I'll close it out with one more from another rest stop, in a place where there was still plenty of sunshine (sun? what's that?)

i found this

Ran across this image while rummaging through my files looking for something else I had misplaced. I have two internal hard drives and two external ones, so sometimes I feel like I am shuffling through drawers of papers looking for things. The good thing is I run across stuff I had forgotten about. This definitely falls in the category of images created that I liked but never really did anything with.

It also reminds me of summer, rapidly receding into the distance...

I am excited to begin this new blog and finally have a place to post those odds and ends of images taken along the way that I love but never get to be seen by anyone else. My dear friend J (http://theflyingpencil.blogspot.com/) is my inspiration for this; she is incredibly talented and continues to be prolific despite being a new mom as well.

Here are some pix from our recent trip to the Oregon Coast, one of my favorite places. We were in Yachats, where the coastline is rocky and temptestuous.

And on the way back, my favorite rest stop in Oregon. Who couldn't love sitting at that picnic table?

A humble start- I'll do my best to keep adding new bits and pieces.
